Nikiforos is the last Asprokorakas, his father, Efstathios, having died and bequeathed the burdensome family name to his sensitive son. The rest of the clan takes it for granted that the young man will carry on his father's work, but he has other plans. Smitten with the beautiful Rosa, a singer and dancer in a disreputable nightclub, he listens only to his heart. With surprise encounters, farcical situations, and constant twists and turns, this is ultimately a play about the triumph of love.

The Last Asprokorakas, by the great director, writer and theatre scholar Alexis Solomos, is a wickedly acerbic comedy that demonstrates the conservatism and hypocrisy of the upper middle class, but also of the "sacred" Greek family, which places reputation, glorious ancestors and heritage above friendship, romance, and love of life.
